The city that never sleeps in darkness

New York looks like a picture from an apocalyptic movie. We went for a short walk to the Brooklyn Bridge and found ourselves in the film “I am Legend.”

Empty streets, terrifying sirens screaming from fire trucks and ambulances.  The wind blows hard, you can barely stand and in the distance a very dark Manhattan. A scary, surreal view. I did not expect ever to see the Manhattan skyline without it’s ever twinkling lights.

Most of our friends don’t have power. Some hospitals were evacuated. Cars are submerged and whole neighborhoods are underwater (Alphabet City). Terrifying.
